Kate is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with broad expertise in various clinical settings which include private practice, elementary school-based, at a non-profit agency and in a primary care collaborative health setting. Kate has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, both individually and in groups. She uses a strength-based approach to help clients overcome issues such as anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD and learning differences, work stress, sleep difficulties, PTSD, social-emotional and behavior issues, spiritual issues, grief and loss, fertility challenges and perinatal mood disorders such as postpartum depression and anxiety.
Kate brings a warmth and compassion as well as her many life experiences, including a previous career as an attorney, to her work as a psychotherapist. Former clients report that Kate is warm and compassionate, an excellent listener and problem-solver. Kate’s clinical approach is eclectic in nature, drawing heavily from solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Bowen family systems and attachment theory. Kate provides bilingual services for Spanish-speaking clients as well.
