Kate is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

With broad expertise in various clinical settings which include private practice, onsite at a large Silicon Valley technology company’s headquarters, elementary school-based, at a non-profit agency and in a primary care collaborative health setting. Kate has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, both individually and in groups. She uses a strength-based approach to help clients overcome issues such as anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD and learning differences, work stress, sleep difficulties, PTSD, social-emotional and behavior issues, spiritual issues, grief and loss, fertility challenges and perinatal mood disorders such as postpartum depression and anxiety.

Kate brings a warmth and compassion as well as her many life experiences, including a previous career as an attorney, to her work as a psychotherapist. Former clients report that Kate is warm and compassionate, an excellent listener and problem-solver. Kate’s clinical approach is eclectic in nature and tailored to the unique needs of the individual client and circumstances, drawing heavily from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, Bowen family systems and attachment theory. When working with couples, Kate utilizes the Gottman Method approach and has completed Levels 1 and 2 of the clinician training for this modality.

My Services

I provide individual psychotherapy for teens and adults, couples therapy, family therapy and group therapy. Issues I have significant experience treating include anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief/loss, career transitions, relationship problems, parenting challenges, social anxiety, OCD and phobias, ADHD, LGBTQIA+ issues, anger management issues, autism spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, substance misuse and abuse, domestic violence, and life stage transition issues, among others.

I specialize in women's health issues, including fertility challenges and pregnancy loss, as well as perinatal mood disorders such as pre and postpartum depression and anxiety.  Please contact me directly for more information about my experience with these very sensitive and profoundly personal issues if they are of concern for you.

I offer confidential virtual sessions on a HIPAA-compliant video platform to support my clients remotely when life circumstances prevent us from meeting in person.

My fee for a 50 minute session is $250 for individuals and $275 for couples or family work. I accept payment at the time of service via cash, personal check, Venmo or credit card and FSA/HSA debit cards. While I am not currently on any insurance panels, I do provide clients with a Superbill for services rendered which they can then submit to their insurance carrier, should they wish to do so, to seek any reimbursement they may be eligible for under their plan.
